The Cyber Peace Initiative at the Internet Governance Forum 2009 CPI@IGF 2009
On the occasion of the Internet Governance Forum in Sharm El Sheikh from the 15th to the 18th of November, The Cyber Peace Initiative Team, experts and Youth are holding and participating at a number of activities and workshops in collaboration with international partners and colleagues from all over the world. o Our exhibition at the Egyptian pavilion will feature work of our young Net-Amanians; visit our booth and talk to our Cybernauts about their plans and aspirations.
o Our IGF The camp will be held parallel to the Internet Governance Forum (IGF) 2009 in Sharm El Sheikh as a capacity building effort to form future savvy young cadres in internet issues and safety concerns, as promoted by the Cyber Peace Initiative. The camp will provide the selected candidates with the chance to get on hands experience by sponsoring their attendance of the IGF sessions and workshops. The camp will also raise awareness about "Digital Citizenship".

Internet Governance – Activating and Listening to the Voice of Teens For the first time in the IGF, The voice of Tweens and Teens will be amplified in the workshop. The workshop will be highlighting how to best achieve Internet governance and safety awareness among teens, by listening to what 20 young people will have to say about the internet in a participative set up.

Greening The Internet This ITU workshop will examine the new trends in the Internet, the potential impacts on climate change and the ways in which the Internet can evolve in an environmentally-friendly manner.

Child Online Safety Indicators: Measuring the Un-measurable Children and their safety online, is tackled again in the workshop. This workshop will focus on the issue of how to devise the proper indicators for measuring safety procedures in different countries with respect to child on line safety.

Peace and Security in the Cyberspace This ITU workshop will tackle the issue of cyber security that requires the establishment of watch, warning and incident response capabilities, such as Computer Incident Response Team (CERT) to prepare for, detect, manage, and respond to cyber incidents. |
